Scenes of Tibetan tea yoyoyooda photo exhibition
1, "Tea as the theme"
I like taking photos as if writing my diary so I kept them personal, until 2007 when I came to give the photo exhibitions under the tea related themes such as “I ♥ TEA –The P.O.W.E.R of Tea”, “Sceneries with Tea”, “Tea and letters”, “Ochacle ~Tea and Days + Oracle~”, “CHAEN ~ Relations through tea~”.
I have been the mistress of a teahouse in Tokyo since 1999 but my relationship with tea had begun in the daily life of my childhood. My aunt, who lived with our family, was a teacher of the Japanese art of tea ceremony and used to prepare a cup of tea for me. I also used to talk over tea with a neighborhood friend on the way from school every day. When I was a student in New York, I used to go to a Chinese teahouse and had colorful moments in neighborhood cafes. For me, tea is something which connects my past, present and future self. It is a daily thing, peace and a precious time of communication which unites others and myself. We can’t live without foods, while we can without tea. The fact that we are being able to do this dispensable activity means, I always feel, happiness and peace.
2, "Photo exhibition, Scenes of Tibetan tea"
My photography teacher and my father passed away in these few years. There were moments when I felt and thought deeply about life & death realizing that human life has an end, and from my perspective, I felt these two people carried no sense of regret. In this finite lifetime, what would be the most disappointing for me now? Reflecting on this question, I had taken my first journey to Tibet in 2003. In the city of Lhasa, I came across sceneries, people, Tibetan teahouses of unique display and the people who gathered there. They touched my heart and I took a lot of photos. After returning home, however, I developed the films to find only those from the Tibetan teahouses and the people there did not come out. I was so sorry and regretful that I visited Tibet again to take photos in 2017. Tibet as I experienced with my own eyes is the land of prayers, fashionable people, teahouses with unique atmosphere and the powerful mountains of wild nature which let us realize anew that we are part of it.
3, "Days of microcosm"
During this trip, at the teahouses in the capital city of Lhasa, where Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple are located, I often saw certain gesture when the first cup of tea was poured. They dip the index finger in it and flick the liquid away, which is done three times. They say that the first movement is to dedicate the tea and prayer for the buddhas, the second is for the ancestors and the third is for the world peace. Those who prostrate around Jokhang Temple, praying by touching the ground with the hands, knees and forehead, are not praying or invoking for the fulfillment of personal desires, either, but they keep praying for “the world peace”, along with which the mani wheels also spin all around the town. Being surrounded by those scenes suddenly reminds me of a story about Gandhi.
Their prayers have different ways of expression and communication, but each is wishing for the peace of one’s microcosm (soul) and for that peaceful microcosm to be connected to the macrocosm. Last but not least, it is a great honor to be able to give this photo exhibition on my very favorite land, Taiwan. May your microcosm be peaceful every day. 「チベットのお茶にまつわる風景 yoyoyooda写真展」
１、『お茶をテーマに 』 日記を書くように写真を撮るのが好きで、
自分が見るだけのためにとってましたが、 2007年から「 I ♥ TEA オチャノチカラ 」「 お茶のある風景 」 「 お茶と手紙 」 「 オチャクル ～お茶と日々とオラクルと～ 」 「 茶縁 」 というお茶にまつわるテーマで写真展をするようになりました。 1999年から東京で茶館を経営してますが、 お茶とのお付き合いは、幼少の頃から日常や、 実家で一緒に暮らしてた伯母が茶道の先生で お茶をたててもらってたり、毎日学校帰り 近所の友達の家でお茶をしながらお話ししたりNYで学生の頃はチャイナタウンで中国茶館にいったり、 近所のカフェでいろんな時間をすごしました。
お茶とはじぶんにとって 過去と今と未来の自分の時間をつなぐものであり
日常であり、平安であり、 自分と他人とを結ぶコミニュケーションの大切な時間です。
ご飯は食べないと生きて行けないけれど お茶をしなくても生きて行ける。
そのしなくてもいい行為ができているということは 幸せであり、平和である。といつもそう思います。
２、『チベットのお茶にまつわる風景』
ここ数年のあいだに写真の先生と実父が他界しました。 人の営みには終わりがあるんだな～としみじみ死ぬ＆生きるを、 味わい考えるきっかけがあり、じぶんからみて、 彼ら二人は後悔の念はないだろうな～と感じました。 終わりがあるこの人生自分にとっていまがっかりすることはなんだろう～？ と考えた時に、 2003年にチベットに初めて出かけ、ラサで街で出会った景色や人々、 独特な風景のチベットの茶館や、そこに集う人々に感動し、たくさん写真をとりました。 帰国後フィルムを現像するとチベットの茶館の風景とそこの人々だけ、１枚も写ってなかったのが ものすごく残念で、後悔したので、再び2017年に撮りにチベットへおとずれました。 自分の目をとおしたチベットは、 祈りの土地、ファッショナブルな人々、独特な雰囲気を感じるチベットの茶館の風景、 自分自身が自然の一部であることをあらためて感じさせてくれる 力強い大自然の山々があるというところです。
３、『小さな宇宙の日々』
今回ポタラ宮殿、ジョカン寺のあるチベットの首都ラサにある 茶館でよく目にしたのが １番最初にお茶を注がれる時にする所作で、 コップの中に人差し指を入れて そのお茶のついた指を外に弾きます。それを３回繰り返します。 動作の１回目はほとけさまに、2回目はご先祖様に3回目は世界平和に お茶と祈りをたむける意味だそうです。 街の中で、ジョカン寺の周りをぐるぐると五体投地 している人たちも個人の欲求を求めた祈りや、何かの祈願ではなく、 「世界平和」ということを願って祈りを続けてるそうです。 街じゅうのマニ車もそれと共にグルグルとまわります。 その景色の中にいると、ガンジーにまつわる話をふと思い出します。 表現の仕方や伝え方は違いますが それぞれの祈りが、自分の小宇宙（魂）の平和につながり、 その平和な小さな宇宙が、大宇宙につながることを願います。 最後に大好きな台湾の土地でこの写真展をできるのはとても光栄です。 みなさんの小さな宇宙が日々、平和でありますように。 いつまでもみんなが気持ちよく お茶ができる日々がつづきますように。 yoyoyooda
「 西藏的茶事景色 yoyoyooda攝影展 」
１、『以茶為題』
喜歡寫日記般的拍照方式， 原本只是為了自己欣賞的作品， 2007年開始「I ♡ TEA 茶的力量」、「有茶的風景」、 「茶與信」、「Ochacle～茶、日常以及占卜」、「茶緣」 等圍繞著茶為主題舉辦了攝影作品展。 1999年開始在東京經營茶館， 說到與茶的緣分，孩提時的日常生活起， 同住家中的姨母是茶道老師 會泡茶給我喝，或每天放學後 在鄰居朋友家泡茶兼聊天， 或紐約就學時期造訪中國城的中國茶館、 或在住家附近的咖啡店渡過許多時光。 對我而言茶是 連繫自己過去、現在和未來的時光 是日常，是平安， 是自己和他人交流的珍貴時刻。 不吃飯不能活下去 但不喝茶也能活著。 能做著不做也能活下去的事 是幸福的，是和平的。一直都這麼覺得。
２、『西藏茶事風貌作品展』
本次攝影展主題的起源為 這幾年照片中的老師和家父逝世。 人生是有完結篇的啊～深切地領略到死與生， 以此為思索的開端，在我看來， 兩位都過著無悔的人生吧～如此感受著。 對我而言有完結篇的人生中截至目前悔不當初的事是甚麼呢～？ 忽然想起、 2003年初次前往西藏，拉薩街道遇見的景色和人們， 有著獨特風景的西藏茶館，為在那聚集的人深受感動，拍了許多照片。 回國沖洗照片發現西藏茶館及館內人們的風貌，一張都沒留影 因為感到非常遺憾後悔，2017年為了拍攝再次造訪西藏。 我親身感受的西藏是， 祈禱之地、時尚感十足的人們、帶有獨特氣息的西藏茶館風貌， 再次感受到自己是大自然的一部分 是強而有力的大自然山岳之所。
3、『小宇宙的每日』
這次在布達拉宮、大昭寺座落的西藏首都拉薩 飽覽茶館風光 倒茶後的第一個的動作為 食指置於杯中 將沾著茶的手指向外彈。重複此動作三次。 第一次獻給佛，第二次獻給祖先，第三次祈求世界和平。 據說是奉獻茶水和祈禱的意思。 街上，大昭寺周圍處處可見五體投地 據說這些人有為個人祈求，也有甚麼都不求、， 只祈禱持續世界和平。 我也和經輪一起在街上不停歇地轉啊轉。 身處這片景色中，腦海浮現了甘地的話。 表現及傳達的內容或許不盡一致 每個人的祈禱，在自身小宇宙（靈魂）的和平裡相連， 這些和平微小的宇宙，祈求著在大宇宙裡相繫。 能在最喜歡的台灣這塊土地上開設作品展感到十分榮幸。 祈禱大家的小宇宙，日日和平。 時時好心情， 日日有茶沏。yoyoyooda
